Google Ads Deploys Diagnostic Insights


Google Ads is rolling out a new data set to the Insights page highlighting any issues found during diagnostic checks.

Diagnostic information will help you identify issues that are preventing campaigns from showing, causing low engagement, making it difficult to measure conversions, and more.

This data can be found on the Performance Max Campaigns Insights and Overview page, allowing you to troubleshoot issues as soon as they are detected.


Google Ads provides a detailed breakdown of the following information:

  • Account status
  • Billing status
  • Policy Review
  • Conversion Tracking
  • Campaign budget
  • Bid strategy target
  • Campaign Status
  • ad strength

Personalized recommendations will take the guesswork out of fixing issues found by Google, so you can get your campaign back to peak performance in no time.

Diagnostic statistics in Google Ads were previewed in May with an announcement that they would be rolling out soon. Two months later, the launch is now underway.

Google Ads Diagnostic Insights

Diagnostic information only displays when a campaign has received no traffic or conversions.

If your campaign is running and people see the ads and click on them, there will be no diagnostic issues to report.

Keep in mind that Google hasn’t given everyone access to the Insights page yet, as it’s currently in beta.

Google gradually rolls out each type of insight to random people, which means you can have the Insights page with limited data.

Currently, diagnostic information is available for Performance Max campaigns. The new dataset will expand to other campaign types over the coming months.
